Lutheran Essentials meets in the undercroft of the church on Wednesday evenings at 7pm.  You can reach the undercroft by going around to the back parking lot of the church and descending the staircase to the kitchen.  Knock on the door if it is closed and some one will let you in.  Our current study is Martin Luther’s Large Catechism. If you do not have a hard copy of the Book of Concord we are providing it for free, as well as copies of the Lutheran Service Book.

This week we will recite Psalm 141, read the Introduction to the Lord’s Prayer from the Small Catechism, and sing verse 1 of “Our Father, Who From Heaven Above” (LSB 766).  We will then study the Introduction to the Lord’s Prayer in the Large Catechism.  We will talk what prayer is and why we pray.  We will also talk about how to pray and what great blessings the Lord grants us through prayer.  We will also discuss the great blessing it is to be able to call God our Father.  We will close with the hymn “Now Rest Beneath Night’s Shadow” (LSB 880)

As always new people are always welcome to this study at any point during the class.  Please talk to the Pastor, Elders or Paul Edmon if you have any questions.
